LAW AND REGULATIONS (Dutch market only)

The Code VVR is now backed by the law.

From the 1st of September 2008, the regulation for wheelchair transportation in The Netherlands has been sharpened. From this date fixation systems in wheelchair accessible minibuses need to comply with ISO norm 10542.

Before this new regulation was put in place, the Code VVR functioned as a voluntary directive for the fixation sytems for wheelchairs in minibuses. Flex-i-Trans BV has, in co-operation with other constructors, lobbied for the code te become legislation.

Flex-i-Trans welcomes the fact that there is now a legal base for the code VVR. The Flex-i-Trans System® complies with this ISO norm from the moment of its introduction back in 2004. Severe testing by the TüV has been carried out for that.
